FRIENDS OF GOODTHINGS
"Synergy -- the bonus that is achieved when things work together harmoniously."
-- Mark Twain
We're pleased to introduce you to these friends of GoodThings (affectionately known around here as FOGs).

Mothering Magazine celebrates the experience of parenthood as worthy of one's best efforts and fosters awareness of the immense importance and value of parenthood and family life in the development of the full human potential. As a readers' magazine, Mothering recognize parents as the experts and wish to provide truly helpful information upon which parents can base informed choices. Mothering, a 22-year-old publication, is considered the birthplace of the natural family lifestyle.

PlanetSave.com is the one-stop online source and portal for community,
information, and news related to the environment, health and wellness, philanthropy and other topics of common interest to "cultural creatives." Alongside its select links and original news items, it provides alternative features, insider humor, and provocative commentary, the hallmarks of the publication.

HOPE Magazine works to inspire a sense of hope by exploring the human experience at its best and its worst, and celebrating the individuals and organizations who are working to make the world a better place. A magazine without formal religious, political, or spiritual affiliation, HOPE's mission is to help and encourage us to be part of the solution – to understand ourselves and each other, to face individual and societal challenges with courage and a sense of the possible, and to celebrate our most enduring human values in such ways that they find a more prominent place in our culture.
HOPE is published quarterly. Find it at a newsstand near you.

How Do We Define "Good"?

"Good" is, of course, subjective.
To us, "good" has authenticity, depth, nuance
and character.
"goodthings" means specific things (people, organizations,
stories, products, ideas) that are
| · |
creative (inventive, imaginative, original, ingenious, resourceful), |
| · |
constructive (helpful, positive, beneficial, useful, productive) and |
| · |
connective (linking, bridging, joining people and ideas together). |
"Good" to us is not about perfection, nor is it a Pollyanna-ish emphasis on the
positive. Instead it is a celebration of the many, diverse aspects of good
already present in our world.
